Visa and Immigration Status

It is important to remember that your visa and your immigration status are two different things.  The visa  in your passport gives you permission to request entry to the U.S. in a specific nonimmigrant status for an activity that is consistent with that status.  Immigration status is your legal permission to remain in the U.S. and is recorded at the U.S. entry on the I-94, which identifies your visa type and duration of stay.

Report Your Address

All non-immigrants and permanent residents must report an accurate address to OISS and/or USCIS.  If you change your address you must report that change within ten days of moving.   For details of updating your address, click here.
