Erin Gustafson
Erin is a Senior Adviser responsible for a mixed student and scholar case load including employment authorizations, F-1, J-1, and H-1B visa sponsorship, and SEVIS reporting responsibilities for students. Erin has served as a regional leader on immigration issues, and was elected by peers to lead our New England region's professional organization (NAFSA: Association of International Educators) from 2016-2018. Erin has been involved nationally in international student and scholar issues and regularly gives presentations at conferences on immigration topics facing students and scholars. Erin also serves as an F-1 trainer for DSO professionals in the field and was appointed to a curriculum committee for an online J-1 Basics course produced by NAFSA. Erin came to Yale in 2001 after work with a nonprofit that sent lecturers to Central and Eastern Europe to open new departments in humanities and social sciences. Always willing to travel and explore new parts of the world, Erin most often returns to the West Coast where she grew up in California and Oregon. Erin is a marathon runner, a soccer fan, a board member of Girls on the Run, and sings with the New Haven Chorale.
