We are excited to announce that our construction project is coming to an end. With this, we will resume being open on Thursdays, but note that we will not have walk-ins on Thursday afternoons for the rest of February. Walk-In Advising in the Afternoons
Walk-in Advising with an on-call adviser is now available from 1:00-4:00 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
Virtual Drop-In Advising in the Mornings
Our virtual drop-in hours are available on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. EST.
Please note that walk-in advising and virtual advising are for quick questions, such as travel advice or renewing your visa, which should take no more than 5-10 minutes. The majority of your questions should be directed to your designated OISS adviser via appointment, MAC hours, or email to receive the most comprehensive advice.
Office Closings
OISS will be closed every Tuesday and between 12:00 and 1:00 pm every day for lunch, as well as for any official Yale holidays and recess days. See Hours, Directions, & Parking for details.

Getting in Touch With Your OISS Adviser
MAC (My Adviser Connect) Hours
My Adviser Connect (MAC) hours function like virtual office hours for your designated OISS Adviser. Your OISS Adviser has a set time each week during which they will be available on Zoom. Please note that this service operates on a first-come, first-served basis, so you may experience a short wait before being admitted (similar to Virtual Drop-In Hours, but with your designated Adviser).
With the introduction of this service, each OISS Adviser will always have a time each week when they are available to meet with students and scholars in their caseload. Therefore, if you find that your designated OISS adviser does not have any individual appointment slots available in any given week, you can simply drop-in to their MAC Hour to get your questions answered.
Individual Zoom Meetings with Your Designated OISS Adviser
OISS Advisers continue to be available for individual Zoom meetings. Please schedule an appointment with your designated OISS adviser if you have questions that would benefit from a conversation and be better addressed in a meeting rather than an email.
You can always get in touch with your designted OISS adviser via email. While it may take us a few days to get back to you due to our high volume of email traffic, we promise that we will do our best to answer your questions as quickly as we can.

If you click the link at the end of this section, you will also see that every OISS adviser is assigned to a specific day of the week, so if you would like to meet with a specific adviser or your designated OISS adviser you can choose to come to walk-in advising on the day they are assigned. Please note that the walk-in advising schedule might change if an adviser takes time off, so check the link below every week to see the most up-to-date schedule in any given week. Walk-in advising will be available on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 1:00 to 4:00 pm (Note that our building is closed between 12:00 and 1:00 pm). Find out more about walk-in advising.
OISS Virtual Drop-In Hours
Virtual drop-in hours are an easy way to ask a quick immigration question. If you click the link at the end of this section, you will also see that every OISS adviser is assigned to a specific day of the week, so if you would like to meet with a specific adviser or your designated OISS adviser, you can choose to come to Virtual Drop-In Hours on the day they are assigned. If you have a topic that requires a longer discussion, we recommend that you either make an appointment with your designated OISS adviser or attend their MAC hour. Please note that the virtual drop-in schedule might change if an adviser takes time off, so check the link below every week to see the most up-to-date schedule in any given week. OISS Building Hours
OISS will be open for picking up and dropping off documents on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, and from 1:00 to 5:00 pm. Our doors are closed on Tuesdays and from 12:00 to 1:00 pm every day during lunch hour.
We are also open 5:00 to 9:00 pm, Mondays through Fridays for events, and as a community space. Please feel free to come by and hang out in the office, or book our space for events or group meetings by emailing molly.hampton@yale.edu.
THE OasISS
We have also launched a new wellness space in our office called, The OasISS! Read more about the space and stop by to use it during the day or in the evenings, whenever we are open.
Closed Tuesdays
Please note that our office will be closed on Tuesdays and we will not have anyone on-call. However, our phones will remain on in case of emergency and our advisers will still be available over email and/or Zoom appointments on these days.
