Dear Department Administrators,
We are excited to announce the launch of MyOISS, our new immigration case management system at Yale. MyOISS is designed to streamline and simplify the management of immigration-related tasks, ensuring compliance with immigration regulations.
As a centralized platform, MyOISS will provide comprehensive support for managing visa applications, tracking visa statuses, and facilitating communication between international students, scholars, OISS advisers, and administrative staff. This new system aims to enhance efficiency and improve the overall experience for all users involved in managing immigration matters.
Accessing MyOISS
To obtain access to MyOISS, you must first complete the Workday Learning course and then fill out the request form available at the end of the course. To maintain ongoing access, you will be required to complete an abbreviated version of this course on an annual basis. OISS will send reminders when it is time for you to complete the annual reverification.
What You Can Do Today
As of today, you can submit the following requests in MyOISS for Yale-sponsored J-1 scholars:
- J-1 Visa - Yale Sponsorship Application
- J-1 Delayed Arrival
- J-1 Early Arrival
- J-1 Cancel DS-2019
- J-1 Scholar Change Host Department
- J-1 Early Program End
- J-1 Scholar Change in Appointment
To request to bring non-Yale-sponsored J-1 scholars and those on other visa types to Yale (except J-1 interns), you can use the ‘Scholar/Employee Intake (Non-Yale J-1)’ request for now. Additional request types will be available soon for each visa type.
J-1 Interns
We aim to launch workflows for J-1 interns in MyOISS in December. Until then, for urgent new sponsorship requests, please reach out to Ozan Say (ozan.say@yale.edu). Current J-1 interns at Yale will continue to be able to submit midpoint and final evaluations in the old OISS Connect system for the time being.
What Scholars Can Do Today
As of today, J-1 scholars sponsored by Yale can make the following requests:
- J-1 Scholar Immigration Check-In
- J-1 Scholar Incidental Activities
- J-1 Scholar Transfer Out
- J-1 Scholar Travel Signature
- J-2 Dependent Check-In Follow-Up
Please note, departments cannot do these on behalf of scholars. More information for scholars can be found here.
