Abigail Langdon
Originally from Alabama, Abby holds both a bachelor's and master’s degree in social work from Auburn University and the University of Alabama, respectively, and puts those skills to use in her role as an Advisor. She has experience living and working abroad in Thailand and Hong Kong, helping her empathize with the international population at Yale as they navigate complex immigration regulations. Abby is joining the Yale OISS team after supporting the undergraduate international student population at the University of Chicago.
Outside of work, Abby likes to ride her bicycle on long trips, experiment with sewing her own clothes, and express herself through aerial circus acrobatics.
Every adviser now offers Virtual and In-Person Office Hours. Your adviser has a set time each week during which they will be available on Zoom (Virtual), or in-person at OISS, 421 Temple Street. You can check the calendar below to confirm which times they will be available for their office hours. Advisers will update this calendar if they will not be able to attend their office hours for the week, so please confirm their availability before joining or coming into the office.
For Virtual Office Hours: During your adviser’s Virtual Office Hours, complete this form to let them know why you are joining, and then click the Zoom link. Please note that this service operates on a first-come, first-served basis, so you may experience a short wait before being admitted. If you join outside of the regular Virtual Office Hours, your adviser will not see you. These hours are designed for quick immigration questions and are not a replacement for scheduling an appointment with your OISS adviser for more in-depth advising.
For In-Person Office Hours: Make your way to OISS, 421 Temple Street, during your adviser's In-Person Office Hours. When you arrive, let the front desk know which adviser you are there to see. You will be asked to fill out a short form to note the reason for your visit. This service operates on a first-come, first-served basis, so you may experience a short wait before being seen. If you arrive outside of your adviser's scheduled hours, they will not be available to meet with you.
