Explore Edgewood Park Together! [Farmers Market + Pickleball Fun Day]

Have you ever been to Edgewood Park in New Haven? Did you know that the park was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted Jr., the son of the architect who designed NYC's Central Park? Join OISS to explore the many beauties of Edgewood Park this summer, program highlights include: Free CTtransit roundtrip bus ticket Visiting the weekly summer farmers market organized by CitySeed Free pastry at the farmers market Fun pickleball tournament* with friends and OISS Exploring the sprawling Edgewood park, including its many scenic routes and Duck Pond We will take the CTtransit bus 243 from New Haven Green to Edgewood Park together. The ride is around 10 minutes. OISS will cover the cost of a round-trip bus ticket and a pastry for each participant. OISS will also bring the equipment for the pickleball game. *Please note that the 3 pickleball courts at Edgewood Park are publicly accessible. There is a chance that OISS participants may not be able to join the game due to overcrowding.

Unfold & Unwind: Paint a Paper Fan

Beat the summer heat and express your creativity at this relaxed evening crafting event with OISS! Paper fans have been used across cultures for centuries — as functional tools, works of art, and vehicles for storytelling. Now it’s your turn to create one that’s entirely your own. Join us for a laid-back night of painting and crafting as you design a personalized paper fan to carry you through the rest of the summer season — cool down in style while sharing your story and showcasing your personality. All supplies are provided, so you can show up ready to create, connect, and unwind. Registration required to attend. We can’t wait to see what you create!

Day Trip to Spring Hill Arts Gathering (Art, Music & Culture)

Still looking for the perfect day trip that combines visiting a historic vineyard dating back to the 1700s, watching live art and music performances in an open barn, and enjoying oversized art installations amid nature with wine and food? Join OISS for the 4th Annual Spring Hill Arts Gathering this summer. This major regional festival takes place at Spring Hill Vineyards, an award-winning vineyard known for its immersive blend of art and nature. The property features sculpture installations, site-specific architecture, and rotating exhibitions—each a destination in its own right—set among woodlands and gardens. This year's Spring Hill Arts Gathering features live music and art performances from across the region, special art installations, and a variety of arts and crafts programs. Food and beverages will also be available for purchase at the venue. Your registration fee includes: Round-trip transportation from OISS Admission to the Spring Hill Arts Gathering Light snacks A picnic blanket for the day (to be returned at the end of the event) Notes Before You Book & Ticket Pricing Open to international students and scholars (adults only, 18+) This program will take place rain or shine, so please plan accordingly. Additional details will be sent to all registered participants closer to the event date. Your ticket price includes the items listed above. Please note that all other expenses, including food and beverages purchased at the venue, are the responsibility of participants. All ticket sales are final. No refunds will be issued. Questions?
