Graduate International Community Outreach Fellow
Job Description:
The Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS) at Yale University is seeking two dynamic and motivated Graduate International Community Outreach Fellows to join our team for academic year 2026-27. This role is designed to enhance the social and community-building experience for Yale's international student and scholar community by planning and executing social activities throughout the academic year. As a Graduate International Community Outreach Fellow, you will work closely with the OISS Associate Director of Engagement, Assessment, and Operations, and collaborate with other team members to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for international students and scholars.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with a fellow Graduate International Community Outreach Fellow to plan and execute one or two social and community-building events each month (September-May) for Yale's international community, with support from the OISS Associate Director of Engagement, Assessment, and Operations.
- Create and advertise events on Yale Connect, manage event communications, and ensure timely updates on the platform.
- Potentially lead one of the daily English Conversation Groups for beginner and intermediate ESL learners.
- Work alongside Outreach & Support Fellows to effectively advertise your events and increase participation.
- Assist in other OISS programs, including day trips, large community events, and orientation programs as needed.
- Participate in weekly team meetings to set goals, review progress, and strategize on upcoming events and initiatives.

- Experience in organizing and executing events for international communities.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to adhere to a schedule.
- Friendly and outgoing personality with a desire to expand their network within the Yale community.

Qualifications:
- Current graduate or professional student
- Ability to work 8-10 hours a week
- Proven experience in event planning, community engagement, or related roles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with Yale Connect or similar event management platforms is a plus.
- Enthusiastic about contributing to the international community at Yale.
Pay rate is $25/hour.
Graduate International Programs Support Fellow
Position Description:
The Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS) at Yale University is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Graduate International Programs Support Fellow to join our team. This role involves providing essential logistical and communications support for a variety of OISS programs and events, as well as assisting in the creation and dissemination of a weekly newsletter for Yale's international community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide logistical support for OISS programs and events, such as room bookings or catering arrangements.
- Assist in drafting, formatting, and sending a weekly newsletter to Yale's international community every Thursday, ensuring timely and accurate information delivery.
- Collaborate with other OISS team members to ensure smooth execution of events, including registration management and attendee communications pre and post events.
- Support communications efforts by preparing promotional materials, updating event information on various platforms, and creating graphics for social media, and a digital display.
- Help maintain and update the OISS website with current event information, resources, and news.
- Attend and participate in weekly team meetings to discuss upcoming events, logistical needs, and communication strategies.
Ideal Candidate Qualities:
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail in drafting content.
- Experience in event planning, logistics, or communications, preferably in an international or educational setting.
- Proficiency with digital communication tools and platforms, such as email marketing software, social media, and content management systems.
- A proactive and collaborative team player who is committed to supporting the international community at Yale.
- Enthusiastic and flexible, with a willingness to contribute to a variety of tasks and projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Current graduate or professional student at Yale University
- Ability to work 5-10 hours a week
- Proven experience in logistical support, communications, or related roles.
- Strong familiarity with email marketing software, social media platforms, and content management systems is a plus.
