Work After Graduation for MD Students: F-1 Optional Practical Training

Interested in working in the U.S. after graduation? You may be eligible to apply for F-1 Optional Practical Training, a work authorization based on your F-1 student visa. This session will cover the basics of OPT and how to apply. Three very important factors to know before attending are: 1) You cannot apply to USCIS and pay the $410 fee until AFTER you receive a new I-20 from OISS recommending you for OPT; 2) You must be physically present in the US in order to apply for OPT even though the process is online; and 3) You do not need a job before you apply. This workshop will walk you through each step in order. This presentation will be recorded so if you cannot attend, please still register so you can receive the recording and slides. You will receive the Zoom instructions once you register for the orientation session.
