Sanctuary Kitchen Event at OISS: Registration Below!Valentine’s Day is a celebration of love, and few things are as beloved to us as coffee! Join Sanctuary Kitchen for a special Valentine’s night with Mokhtar Alkhanshali, the founder and CEO of Port of Mokha, in conversation with journalist and 2017 Yale World Fellow Abdul-Rehman Malik. Growing up between Brooklyn, San Francisco and Yemen, Mokhtar comes from an ancient lineage of coffee farmers, that traces back to where the world’s first coffee was cultivated over five centuries ago. Guests will have the unique opportunity to sample the award-winning coffee, as well as traditional Yemeni cuisine prepared by Sanctuary Kitchen chefs. Copies of The Monk of Mokha by Dave Eggers can be pre-ordered with your ticket purchase, and will also be for sale at the event.Profits from this event will be donated to support families in Yemen impacted by the current famine and ongoing war.
