On September 30, 2024, the Department of State launched AVITS, in an “effort to improve services for our visa applicants.” AVITS is now active in several countries, including:
• Belgium
• Burkina Faso
• Cameroon
• Côte d’Ivoire
• Democratic Republic of the Congo
• France
• The Gambia
• The Netherlands
• Ghana
• Liberia
• Nigeria
• Rwanda
• Senegal
• Sierra Leone
For applicants with future appointments scheduled in the previous appointment system, the FAQ website notes that existing appointments remain on the original date selected, and that new account registration instructions will be sent directly to the previously registered email address.
