Half Past 5 International Discussion Group

Every Tuesday @ 5:30pm in the International Center, beginning Fall 2015

OISS is proud to present our new international discussion series, Half Past 5. At this weekly coffee hour, internationals have the opportunity to talk about observations and nuances of American culture, share common experiences, meet other people, and enjoy cultural exchange. Each week will focus on a different theme related to American culture.

Ever wondered why Americans are obsessed with small talk or what the big deal is with Disney theme parks? What about why American culture is so fixated on beauty or how diversity in the US shapes peoples’ perspectives? Topics such as these will be the focus of our year-long international discussion series. So take a break from studying, meet new friends, and join us for good conversation and coffee-hour fare.

Yummy refreshments will be served! Open to the Yale community, Registration not required. For more information, please contact our series coordinator: laura.hoffsis@yale.edu.
