If you are graduating this May and applying for F-1 Optional Practical Training (OPT) please be aware of the filing deadlines for OPT. USCIS must received your OPT application, no later than 60 days after the program end date. If you are considering applying for OPT and have not done so, now the time to prepare your application. You do not need a job or internship offer to apply for OPT; so you can submit your application as you continue to look for a position. USCIS will not accept applications received after the filing deadline.
For students in J-1 status, Academic Training (AT) is available for post-graduation employment. You must have a job offer with specific employment dates in order to apply for AT. As it takes several days to process your AT request, please submit your application to OISS by no later than May 16th.
